*VAWA Cases
Victims of domestic violence often experience a wide range of emotional, cognitive, and behavioral symptoms that can persist long after the abuse ends.
These may include:
Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD)
Anxiety and panic attacks
Depression and suicidal ideation
Sleep disturbances and flashbacks
Dissociation or emotional numbing
Low self-esteem and chronic fear
When left undocumented, these symptoms may be misunderstood. An immigration evaluation can objectively identify and describe these symptoms and the impairment they cause
To be eligible, individuals must:
Be the spouse, child, or parent of a U.S. citizen or permanent resident
Demonstrate they have resided with the abuser
Show they have experienced battery or extreme cruelty
A psychological evaluation can help document the nature and severity of the abuse, providing essential documentation supporting your experience.
