Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner

Vietnamese Speaking Provider

Hi! My name is Kim, and I am a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC). I hold a doctoral degree from Seattle University and am excited to begin seeing patients at Alona Wellness Center located in downtown Everett.

I provide psychiatric evaluations and medication management for adults and treat a wide range of conditions including depression, anxiety, and ADHD. I am fluent in English and Vietnamese and am especially passionate about working with communities of color.

In college, I dedicated a lot of my time to student activism and grassroots community building. Prior to nursing, I led court-mandated meetings for Child Welfare Services in San Diego, where I developed the utmost respect for individuals and families impacted by the foster care system. I also bring several years of experience working as a registered nurse at a federally qualified community health clinic.

My approach to care is deeply shaped by my upbringing in an immigrant household and my experiences as the first in my family to attend college. There, I quickly learned that the medical field, psychiatry in particular, has not always been designed with everyone in mind, which at times has caused more harm than healing.

My hope in pursuing this profession is to reimagine mental health in a way that puts each person and their lived experiences at the forefront of treatment. My goal as your provider is to create a space where you feel safe, understood, and supported. I hope to learn from you just as much as you learn from me during our time together.

A little bit more about me– outside of work, I enjoy indoor cycling, playing scrabble, watching documentaries (and going down the occasional rabbit hole), and spending time with my orange cat, Chicken Nugget.
