"Hi! I'm Noha Elbahouty, a Clinical Social Worker who believes deeply in the role of community and connection in healing. I prioritize an anti-oppressive, holistic, and culturally attuned approach to therapy. I hold strongly that mental health work is incomplete without active acknowledgement of the ways systemic oppression is actively harming marginalized communities and preventing access to care, identity development that is affirming, and the basic resources to survive. This is deeply rooted into my practice
As a Mixed Race, Arab, woman of color, I know how it feels to exist on the edge of belonging: navigating intersecting identities, and often internalizing that you just don’t fit. There is a beautiful nuance to the ways culture, identity, and social environment shape our inner worlds. I enjoy working with children of all ages, adolescents, families, and young adults. I aim to create a space where we can explore your world and better understand what may be getting in the way of your needs being met, and of becoming your most authentic self.
My work integrates Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), Emotion-Focused Family Therapy (EFFT), and Art/Play Therapy. Together, we can build a foundation of emotion regulation skills to process trauma, decrease the intensity of anxiety, depression, and PTSD symptoms, explore family systems and patterns of conflict, and challenge the narratives that aren't serving you anymore. My clinical approach is also informed by my experience working with children and families in K-12 schools and higher level of care Eating Disorder treatment. I am a HAES aligned provider.
I would love to work alongside you and support you on your healing journey!"
